The Beginning

On Thursday evening, October 17th 1974, an organizational meeting was held at Don’s Country Inn and a Snowmobile Club was formed. Thirty-six people joined the Marengo Snowgoers and designed the club to promote safety and opportunities for family snowmobiling. The first official meeting was held the following week, October 24th, at the Marengo American Legion where committee’s were set up for events and fundraisers.

The Snowgoers are best known for our annual Brat Fry. This event is our main fundraiser; the first Brat Fry was in 1974 and a Ski Doo TNT was the grand prize. Although we have retired the sled giveaway, there is a 400 ticket draw down with cash prizes! And you'll still get the best brat in town!

While still staying a modest size and proud organization, the Snowgoers are always up for adventures and adding new members to join along. We currently meet every third Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. held at Joe's Place. Please be sure to check our calendar for updates on meetings and events.
