On Thursday evening October 17th 1974 an organizational meeting was held at Don’s Country Inn and a Snowmobile Club was formed. Thirty-six people joined the Marengo Snowgoers, the club was formed to promote safety and family snowmobiling. The first official meeting was held the following week October 24 at the Marengo American Legion where committee’s where set up for events and fundraisers.

Today the Marengo Snowgoers are still a proud Marengo organization, while membership has dwindled this past decade we still have a small group whom love to snowmobile. We are always looking for new members and ideas. Our meetings are held at Glo-Bowl fun center in Marengo the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 7pm.

The Snowgoers are best known for our annual Brat Fry, this event is our main fundraiser; the first Brat Fry was in 1974 and a Ski Doo TNT was the grand prize. Today we have moved away from a sled giveaway to a 400 ticket draw down with cash prizes. But still serve the best Brat you’ll find anywhere.
